~ Worry-free Children’s Playroom ~(Yoho Mall)

We had undertaken a children’s playroom in a shopping mall. The venue was mainly decorated with stickers, including door stickers, ceiling stickers, wall stickers and gatehouse stickers.

Since children are the users of the playroom, safety of the printed materials is our first priority. We adopted original ink with corn oil formula which does not contain any harmful substances. The ink has passed the international environmental certifications on nickel-free and conforms to the Indoor Air Quality Standards. Parents are worry-free to allow their children to have fun in there. Installing the stickers seems to be an easy job, but it is actually quite a learned skill. Any unevenness will affect the results, so we had to ensure that the installing positions were flat. The most important thing was to align the patterns, otherwise misalignment would occur. The surrounding walls were provided with anti-collision cushions, and the stickers could not be pasted directly on the materials of the cushions. Therefore, the patterns must be printed on canvas first, then wrapped them on the cushions. We put on the wall stickers first, then nailed the canvas with the patterns on them. At the same time, we had to take reference to the connecting points between the wall and the cushions in order to complete a coherent wall drawing.

The gatehouse was a partition wall consisted of multiple three-dimensional blocks, dividing a rectangular space into two areas. Every block was wrapped carefully. Since the blocks were three-dimensional, we had to use concrete stickers instead of canvas. The concrete stickers contain air holes which help mounting firmly on any uneven surfaces, and the picture will be deformed due to insufficient skills. It is our pleasure to add color and childishness to a white space, and we hope the children will have an enjoyable time in this place.
