The government sets controls on signboards and light boxes (both horizontal and vertical orientation) which are built on the exterior walls of the building. Any additions must first obtain the consent of the Buildings Department (called “BD submission”) before commence. Otherwise, they will be regarded as "unauthorized building works" which claim to be removed. Besides, the above minor works must be entrusted to the registered contractors who administered by the Buildings Department.
